Leather Balsam

Leather Balsam will help protect your leather saddle and aid during the breaking-in period. Here is a good local alternative with similar ingredients to Brooks’ Proofide. Apply and leave a generous layer under the saddle. Apply a thin layer to the top of the saddle, allow to penetrate, then buff with a soft cloth. This can be done a few times during the breaking-in period and thereafter only occasionally.
